Louis Sullivan Memorial

I was amazed at the life of architect Louis Sullivan. A life long Chicagoan, his work and his stories of struggle seemed to have some connection for me. Maybe it was his life that seeped into my consciousness early. The tensions, the steady power battles, and troubles with loyalty, friendships, and support. With ornamental cabbages planted and the letters of an early department store painted, a small memorial.

The piece is in the collection of the Sullivan Gallery in Chicago.
