A Wooden trunk constructed from materials from houses I lived in through out my life in Chicago. This piece was part of an installation in the Great Space at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1991. The found materials are connected to my history and hold mystical qualities within the material, drawing on a source of strength on my uncluttered, clear eyed childhood. Formally, these works were influenced by former teachers, artists Robert Nickle and Martin Puryear.
